Breast Cancer Awareness and Fundraising with AVON

Show your support! Wear your heart on your sleeve by donning Avon’s limited-edition Breast Cancer Crusade bracelet. A veritable symbol of hope, the stylish bracelet not only helps raise much-needed funds for the cause, but serves as a reminder to others to keep fighting till there is a cure. As with all Avon Crusade products, 100% of net proceeds from the sale of the bracelet goes directly to the cause. The bracelet retails for $3.95 and Avon Independent Sales Representatives do not make any money on the sale of crusade items.

My Avon Canada Facebook page is inviting new and existing fans alike to share their symbols of hope through photos, stories, videos and wall posts. We’ll need to get our Breast Cancer fundraising photos up online. The goal is to create a virtual community that fosters support through this online exchange. You can find the page by typing in “My Avon Canada” on Facebook.

Further supporting the cause, Avon has partnered with Willow Breast Cancer Support Canada, a national non-profit organization that provides free support and information to anyone affected by breast cancer. The goal is to assist the organization in the distribution of its “Be Breast Aware” information booklets by calling upon Avon’s national team of dedicated District Managers to connect with communities that might not otherwise have direct access to critical breast cancer information and key resources due to geographical location or language barriers.

“Women from diverse backgrounds have a need for culturally sensitive information about best health practices,” explains Virginia Yule, Executive Director of Willow Breast Cancer Support Canada. “That is why Willow is pleased to be partnering with Avon to make sure the “Be Breast Aware” booklet is available to women across Canada, in their language of choice. Together, we are empowering women to reduce their risk of developing breast cancer while making informed decisions about their breast health.”

Avon’s District Managers will offer the free information booklets during Crusade bracelet fundraising drives taking place across Canada throughout the month of October. The “Be Breast Aware” booklets are available in English, French, Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic, Portuguese, Bengali and Punjabi and can also be ordered by visiting www.willow.org.

Through our network of District Managers and Representatives, we have the power and reach to break complacency and maintain the fight against breast cancer until a cure is found.”

Fantastic Breast Cancer Fundraisers!

Congratulations to the Bodies in Action Run Team who are working hard raising funds for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation! Bodies in Action is a group of family and friends who are inspired by the stories of others in our daily lives to try to help bring an end to Breast Cancer. They were thrilled to meet a large number of survivors, who shared their stories with us, but deeply saddened and inspired by the stories of loss and fortitude as well.  We look forward to raising even more funds again this weekend.  Thanks to vendors and donors alike who came out to support their efforts last weekend at the corner of Ski Hill Road and Hwy 7 in Omemee.

New Fundraiser for the Cure!

Avon is continuing in its commitment to raise funds for the breast cancer cause until a cure is found. The newest item is the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade Bracelet. All net proceeds from the sales of these bracelets will be dedicated directly to the cause. We can order these bracelets from What’s new 20 in unlimited quantities during C18. Set a goal and decide how many bracelets you will order to support this very important cause.
Since 1992, Avon Canada’and  Independent Sales Representatives have voluntarily sold pink ribbon Crusade products and donated $17 million to the breast cancer cause.

Brigitte bakes wonderful goodies and takes them to market each week.  Brigitte has added fundraising for Breast Cancer to her market day! Brigitte says:
 
"The last few Sundays I have been doing an AOL in (a small town in the Kawartha Lakes).and have had lots of fun. The people are surprised at all the new lines of products that are available through Avon, and I have gained new customers as a result.
